adopted regional water plans
On November 15, 2011, by action of Director Barnes, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division officially adopted all ten Regional Water Plans. These plans were completed by the State's Regional Planning Councils, and after undergoing a public comment period, were submitted to EPD on September 30, 2011.
The Regional Water Plans, a historic first for Georgia, have established a solid foundation to help meet Georgia's current and future water resource challenges. EPD will use the plans to guide future permitting decisions.
